Deya El-Osta Omar

Deya Mohammed El-Osta Omar is 26 years old, from Derna. The only sister of three brothers. Graduated from the Department of English. Deya currently works as a school teacher and an English trainer in a non-governmental institution; and soon will pursue her MA.

In 2009, she started the journey that lasted for 7 years with the English language and was filled with success. Her passion for English was genetic because she said, "my father spent many years in the United State and had an English fluency, so for his future outlook; he convinced me to study this major." Her father believed that language studying would have a good career in Libya more than anything else.

During the university level, Deya was superior among her peers; she used to finish every year with high marks and be the first at the top list. Except in 2015, she was forced to move for studying in another city because of the war in her hometown at that time, which affected her progress in a later stage.

Yet, her senior year was extraordinary and witnessed an achievement; she worked hard on her graduation research paper from A to Z. She told me that, " I was thinking of its title since so long because I thought it's a critical matter that needed a real solution." The paper title was "Difficulties facing children in learning English as a foreign language in the Libyan context". Then as a reward for her great effort, the paper was published in a scientific book. Regarding her theory, Deya supposed that children could acquire up to 11 languages at an earlier age, but why that seemed so difficult in our society. So she did her best to figure out the problem and solve it.

Nowadays, Deya follows her special technique with the students at teaching; even though she has been attacked for using an unfamiliar method, she has continued using this professional way.

Deya is an ambitious woman who wants to build an educational city to develop English language skills from beginners to advanced levels and a smart library customised to contain comfortable areas for the readers. Also, she is gifted; besides intelligence and politeness, she writes poetry.

Like any human being, she has been through a tuff period of time when her father passed away. She used to be a spoiled girl; after her big loss, she has learnt how to be responsible and take care of herself. Her father was the greatest example who encouraged her and enhanced her spirit to be perfect. During that bad time, she got engaged to a supportive man who helped her to be well.

Personally, I barely know Deya and have got in real touch with her a maximum of 3 times, yet I can see her beautiful soul and vibes that fastly affect anyone. She's an icon for me and for those who know her. A hard worker who would do wonders if she's living in an appropriate environment. Despite everything, Deya is doing her best to achieve her goals. She is a human with great energy and deserves to be talked about, and one day she will reach the summit.
